Dallas police are currently investigating a sexual assault claim against Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The claim, filed on March 12, states that Prescott assaulted a woman in a strip club parking lot in February 2017. The alleged victim said that he forced her to perform sexual acts in the back of an SUV outside the bar. “I didn’t ask for that. I didn’t ask for this to happen to me,” she said.
An eight-season starter for the Cowboys, Prescott was the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He earned the status of 2023 NFL Man of the Year as a result of his “charitable work.”
The recent accusations come after Dak Prescott sued the alleged victim on a $100 million extortion claim. Prescott’s initial lawsuit was filed on Monday in Collin County. Allegedly, the woman’s attorneys wrote Prescott a letter in January stating that she “wouldn't pursue criminal charges or go public with her claims if Prescott paid her $100 million.”
Prescott is seeking $1 million in damages, and his attorney, Levi McCathern, states that “the quarterback has never had non-consensual sex with anyone.” At the time of the alleged assault, the football star had just finished his rookie season with the Cowboys.
Initially, Prescott stated that he did not know the alleged victim. Upon further investigation, he admitted to spending time with the woman at the Dallas strip club known as XTC Cabaret.
"Mr. Prescott, a new father to a baby girl, has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault," McCathern said in a statement. "He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
